JeM terrorist arrested in Pulwama, 25 hand grenades recovered: Police

A JeM (Jaish-e-Muhammad) terrorist from the Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir was detained on Monday along with other weapons and ammunition, according to the police.

At the request of a terrorist in custody, the individual who was apprehended intended to attack law enforcement and security personnel.

In response to a tip regarding the delivery of a shipment in Pulwama, a police and army squad (55RR) was assembled to find the suspects.

When the squad arrived at Naina Bhatpora, a suspect riding a scooter attempted to depart the area. The cargo of weapons and ammunition was found, and the suspect was apprehended, according to the spokeswoman.

He was found to be in possession of an Oe Pistol, 25 Chinese grenades, two pistol magazines, 230 pistol rounds, ten AK magazines, 300 AK rounds, and other incriminating items.

The accused claimed he had touch with Firdous Ahmed Bhat, a terrorist associate who is being held in the major jail in Rajouri.

He further said that he was a member of the JEM terrorist group and that the massive stockpile of weapons and ammunition was intended for further distribution in order to carry out terrorist acts against police and security personnel and disturb the tranquil environment.
